Kate Mulligan

Kate is Managing Partner of King Irving, financial services lawyers. Kate has experience across all aspects of fund formation. This includes advising on and documenting fund structures (retail and wholesale funds, ETFs, VC/PE and ESVCLPs/VCLPs), communicating with Australian financial regulators and advice on international structures. Kate is adept at delivering guidance on Australian financial services law including AFSL and ACL licensing and compliance, and payments. Kate’s practical experience working in the funds management industry provides her with an informed approach to client solutions.

A Member of the Law Society of New South Wales, Kate has chaired the Retirement Incomes and Disclosure Committees for the FSC. She is also a published author in the Butterworth Compliance Series: Managed Funds.

Having sat on AusPayNet as an independent director for over 11 years as well as being an AFSL expert, she is also uniquely placed to assist Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and other payment entities who will be required to obtain AFSL coverage shortly. She also sat as an Independent Director on the Board of Netwealth and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Kate holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) graduating fifth in her year, and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University.
